Questions
We’re trying to modernise the peer review process, if you have a question we want to hear it.
How long does the peer review process take?
We aim to provide 95% of submitted manuscripts with reivews within 14 days of submission. Some types of content may take longer.
What happens to revised manuscripts?
As there is no decision on publishing we don’t require manuscripts to be revised following reviwer’s comments. At the author’s request we will publish a letter and updated manuscript addressing the reviewer’s comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent for regrading on request and payment of an additional fee.
Why are some reviews pesudonamous?
For reviewers to provide candid feedback we allow for them to choose use their real name or a unique pseudonym. Reviewers are normally allowed to use only one pseudonym. This system ballances transparency and accountability for reviews while protecting reviewers.
Why are reviews published online?
Journal reputation is currently used as a proxy for article quality and readers usually never see the opinions of real experts directly. By publishing reviews online readers and authors are provided with more informaiton to assess quality.
