We think that scholars deserve to be paid for their effort and expertise in exchange for providing a prompt and high quality review.

Compensation

The exact amount paid will vary depending on the length and complexity of the material to be reviewed. Typical rates are:

Eligibility

For the peer-review process to have meaning reviewers must have deep expertise in the field. We require each reviewer to meet stringent criteria based on the type of material.

Scholarly Material

Reviewers shall be recognised as active researchers in the field. This would typically require reviewers to at least hold a PhD or demonstrate an equivalent track record via professional qualifcations (e.g. CEng), appointments, or recommendations from colleagues. They would usually have a record as the first or corresponding on several recent peer-reviewed publications.

Technical Material

Revewers shall be recognised as experts in the field. This would typically require reviewers to at least hold a PhD or demonstrate an equivalent track record via professional qualifcations (e.g. CEng), appointments, or recommendations from colleagues. They must be able to demonstrate an awareness of contemporary best practice through publications or employment.
